Why Does an Accounting Firm's Longevity Matter?

When business owners choose a CPA firm, they are choosing more than someone to prepare tax returns or conduct an audit. They are choosing a strategic, trusted advisor.

For 80 years, Froehling Anderson has partnered with closely held businesses through every stage of growth, including:

  • Business startups and expansions
  • Leadership transitions
  • Economic downturns and recoveries
  • Ownership changes and succession planning
  • Multi-generational family business transitions

Experience like this provides perspective that cannot be learned overnight. It helps us anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and guide business owners as they make important decisions today while preparing for what comes next.

Built to Evolve

Reaching 80 years is not about standing still. It requires the ability to evolve while staying grounded in what matters most.

Over the years, Froehling Anderson has expanded its services, strengthened its industry expertise, opened a second office in St. Cloud, and continued investing in the people and tools needed to serve clients well.

This year represents another important chapter in that story.

In January, we introduced a refreshed brand that better reflects who we are today while honoring the values that have guided us for eight decades. In July, we relocated our Minneapolis office to the Waterford building in Plymouth, creating a collaborative space designed to support our growing team and better serve our clients. This month, we are celebrating our 80th anniversary alongside employees and clients.

These milestones are about more than a refreshed logo, a new address, or an anniversary. They represent thoughtful investments in the future of our firm and the clients who continue to place their trust in us.

Success Measured in Relationships

Closely held businesses often need more than answers to individual accounting or tax questions. They need advisors who understand the bigger picture, including where the business has been, what is changing, and what the owners are working toward.

That kind of understanding takes time.

Because we build long-term relationships with our clients, we are able to learn the business beyond the numbers. That deeper understanding helps us provide more useful guidance when important decisions arise.

For us, being a trusted advisor means becoming an extension of the team. It means bringing perspective when the path forward is unclear, asking the right questions, and helping clients think beyond the immediate issue in front of them.

After 80 years, that relationship-based approach remains at the heart of how we work. Our greatest accomplishment isn’t simply reaching an anniversary; it’s the relationships we’ve built over generations.

Many of our clients have trusted Froehling Anderson through multiple business cycles, leadership transitions, and milestones of their own. We’ve celebrated their successes, helped them overcome challenges, and watched businesses grow from one generation to the next.

Their success has always been, and continues to be, the measure of ours.

Their success has always been, and continues to be, the measure of ours.

What Does the Future Hold for Froehling Anderson?

As we celebrate 80 years, we’re focused on what’s next.

We’ll continue investing in our people, adopting tools that help us work smarter, and strengthening the expertise our clients rely on. Just as importantly, we will continue building the relationships that have defined Froehling Anderson since 1946.

Our refreshed brand, new office, and continued growth all reflect a simple philosophy: Accounting for What Matters.

We are grateful to every client, employee, and community partner who has helped shape Froehling Anderson over the past eight decades. We are proud of the history we share and excited to see what we will build together next.
