Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Tax Senior to join our team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who has developed strong technical expertise and is ready to take ownership of complex tax engagements while mentoring staff and serving as a key resource within the firm.

You’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality work, managing client relationships, and supporting managers and partners across a variety of engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership, and S-corporation tax returns
  • Perform advanced tax research with minimal supervision
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and build strong relationships
  • Review select individual and business tax returns
  • Manage workflow, delegate tasks, and ensure timely completion of assignments
  • Assist with tax planning and projections, including use of BNA software
  • Analyze IRS-related matters and assist with elections and accounting method changes
  • Review tax accruals and support audit teams as needed
  • Take ownership of returns and proactively identify solutions to issues
  • Support billing processes and discuss fees with clients (smaller engagements)
  • Assist managers and partners by taking on increased responsibilities

Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and train staff and interns, including developing and delivering training
  • Provide direction, feedback, and performance input for team members
  • Help maintain team morale and serve as a liaison between staff and leadership
  • Participate in establishing firm standards for quality and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4–7 years of public accounting tax experience
  • CPA exam passed (or actively pursuing certification)
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and research skills
  • Experience with tax software (ProSystem Fx preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

Work Environment

  • Overtime required throughout the year, especially during tax season (January–April, ~55 – 60 hours/week)

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager (CPA) who demonstrates strong technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for client service. In this role, you’ll act as a key liaison between clients, staff, and partners while managing all phases of tax engagements.

This position offers the opportunity to develop or expand your specialty area, mentor staff, and play an important role in shaping client relationships and firm success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns
  • Perform and review tax research, planning, and projections (including BNA)
  • Analyze IRS notices, draft responses, and represent clients before the IRS
  • Act as a primary contact for select clients and manage relationships
  • Oversee workflow, delegate assignments, and ensure timely completion of returns
  • Review tax accruals and related workpapers
  • Collaborate with audit and accounting teams on client engagements
  • Mentor and develop staff, including performance evaluations and training
  • Participate in client billing and fee discussions
  • Stay informed on tax law changes and economic trends impacting clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound judgment
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Work Environment

  • Overtime required during peak season (January–April, ~55 – 60 hours/week)
  • Primarily office-based role with extended computer use
