We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. We are committed to a culture of learning. It’s at the core of everything we do. Not only are we invested in your growth as a professional, but we’re also invested in setting you up for a successful future.

Our firm has a philosophy that everyone is both a teacher and a learner. We are committed to passing knowledge on to the colleagues we work with, as well as having teachable spirits to learn new processes and systems, regardless of role, department, or position. From day one of our internship program, we communicate to our interns (and new hires) that they are valued here; we welcome their opinions, ideas, creativity, and thoughts. We see them as professionals and want them to see themselves as professionals.

Our Internship Program

Our unique internship program offers four invaluable experiences that we aim to provide all our interns with:

  • Working closely with seasoned professional accountants on real client projects.
  • Gaining valuable experience during the busy January through April 15 season.
  • Opportunities to interact with clients and partners from day one.
  • Considered for a full-time position within our firm upon graduating.

Named a Top 200 Workplace for several consecutive years, we take pride in the culture we have created here. Our internship program has been around for 30+ years, and we have trained, equipped, and empowered handfuls of young professionals in the accounting industry.

The Inside Story of a Former Intern

Kyle Welle, a current employee and manager, reflects on his experience as one of our interns in 2017.

Q: What drew you to Froehling Anderson’s internship program, and what’s one thing you learned that still sticks with you today?

A: “I was drawn to Froehling Anderson’s internship program because of the people and the culture. From the start, everyone was supportive and approachable, and the culture was fun, which was an environment I wanted to be a part of. Additionally, I enjoyed the opportunity to gain exposure to both tax and audit, as it allowed me to explore the different areas of accounting and figure out which area suited me best – I chose to be a part of the tax team.

One thing I learned throughout my internship that still sticks with me today is the importance of communication and teamwork. Whether it’s working with colleagues on a project or interacting with clients to understand their needs, it ensures that everyone is on the same page and we can work efficiently together to get to the end goal.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone looking to do an accounting internship?

A: “Be willing to help out and ask questions. It demonstrates to others that you’re proactive and interested in understanding the work, which will help you gain hands-on experience and build relationships with your colleagues.”

Q: What excited you the most about starting your career at Froehling Anderson?

A: “Being a part of the culture and working with great people. Also, being able to choose which area (tax or audit) I wanted to work in.”

Q: What’s your favorite part about your job?

A: “Working with great people (colleagues and clients) and working on a variety of different projects.”

Valued Intern to Retained Employee

It is because of interns like Kyle that we remain deeply committed to our internship program. This opportunity early on in his career led to the start of a brand-new chapter. He has been committed, driven, and passionate from the very beginning. From intern to full-time employee, Kyle earned his way into a manager role and has since used his experience and knowledge to work alongside and support a handful of new interns. He exemplifies being both a teacher and a learner, which is evident in his work and relationships with colleagues.
